RAND WATER IS HIRING A WORKSHOP ASSISTANT (MECHANIC)

Job Advert Summary

The successful candidate will report to the Mechanical Foreman and will provide support in the Mechanical Maintenance assisting the Motor Mechanic in the repairing and servicing of vehicles. The incumbent will also assist in the controlling of motor vehicle stores.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 & Min of N2 certificate in Motor/Diesel Mechanic Engineering Studies.
2 year experience as an Artisan Assistant/ in mechanic workshop environment.
Safety training.
Code 10 drivers’ license and ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 Test is essential

Primary Duties

Remove and replace components from plant equipment or vehicles as instructed.
Dismantle and / or assemble componentsfrom equipment, plant or vehicles as instructed.
Arrange with Central Depot for servicing/repairs of vehicles.
Attend Breakdowns and shutdowns.
Operate piggy back to recover broken /stranded / stuck Rand Water vehicles as instructed by Foreman
Load, Transport, offload all the above equipment responsibly
