Rand Water is Hiring a Artisan Assistant – Mechanical

Job Advert Summary    

Assist Artisans on daily functions.

 

 

Minimum Requirements    

• Grade 12 or equivalent • Trade certificate as Fitter Artisan will serve as an advantage • One year working experience in mechanical (fitting) related environment • Willing to work stand-by when required • Drivers license would serve as an advantage

 

 

Primary Duties 

• Assist artisan with maintenance tasks and inspections
• Loading and unloading of tools and equipment on to transport
• Painting and cleaning of structures, pumps and floors
• Inspect and repair all mechanical equipment on site work as determined by foreman

 

 

• To work overtime when there is an urgent task on your area of work
• To report all plant defects that relate to Health and Safety
• To ensure all safety precautions are followed when working with tools and equipment
• Security and control over allocated and artisan tools
• To ensure access control system is adhered to

 

 

Knowledge

• Safety knowledge.
• Basic hand tools and workshop machinery

 

 

Skills

• Ability to communicate well (both verbally and in writing)
• Safety conscious.

Attitude

• Ability to communicate well (both verbally and in writing)
• Safety conscious.
