Gate Guards x2 Posts at South African National Parks

A challenging vacancy currently exists for 2x Gate Guards at Addo Elephant National Park. The successful incumbent will report to the APU Ranger Sergeant

Responsibilities:

Law Enforcement that will include participating in Access Control, Secure Workspace, Reporting and Communication.
To resolve minor conflicts that may arise at the entrance gate.
To provide detailed information to guests about the park.
To prevent unauthorized removal of the park’s property
To guard the entrance gate at the park.

To open the gate to allow employees, deliveries, contractors, and authorized guests to enter the park.
Check the credentials before allowing anyone to enter the park.
To control traffic to and from the park’s buildings and grounds.
To direct guests and authorized personnel to various parts of the park
To perform maintenance duties such as mowing lawns and sweeping gate areas; etc.
To record the arrival and departure of both employees and guests

Candidate will be required to reside within the Park and official accommodation will be made available to the successful candidate.

The remuneration package includes a basic salary, based on the salary scale of a position with a Paterson B1 job grade and allowances and benefits as specified in the HR Tariff Document and Conditions of Services of SANParks.
Appointment will be in accordance with EE Plan targets.
