Signa Academy Learnerships are providing South African youth with opportunities to gain valuable skills, workplace experience and accredited qualifications. The programmes are available to eligible applicants from Grade 9 to Matric, with opportunities offered across all provinces in South Africa.
Signa Academy is a Level 1 B-BBEE learning and training institute that provides sector-specific SETA and QCTO-accredited learnerships and accredited short-course programmes. The academy focuses on skills development and creating opportunities for previously disadvantaged individuals, young people and people living with disabilities.
Signa Academy Learnerships
Signa Academy has grown from a small training operation with two training rooms, five employees and 20 learners into a national training institution with five permanent campuses across five provinces. The academy engages an average of 1,400 learners across more than 59 fully accredited skills development programmes.
Since 2012, Signa Academy has focused on helping South Africans develop skills that can improve their chances of entering the workplace.
The available learnership fields include:
- Information Technology (IT)
- Healthcare and Nursing
- Engineering and Construction
- Finance
- Retail
- Hospitality and Cleaning
These programmes provide opportunities for individuals who want to gain skills in different industries while working towards recognised learning outcomes.
Who Can Apply?
The Signa Academy Learnership opportunities are aimed at applicants with qualifications ranging from Grade 9 to Matric and above.
This means that young people who have completed Grade 9, Grade 10, Grade 11 or Grade 12 may be considered for suitable programmes, depending on the specific requirements of the learnership.
Applicants should carefully check the requirements of the particular programme they are interested in before submitting an application.
Learnership Requirements
Applicants should prepare the following documents:
- South African Identity Document (ID)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Highest qualification, such as Grade 9, Grade 10, Grade 11 or Grade 12 and above
- Proof of address
Having these documents ready can make the application process easier and help applicants respond quickly when opportunities are available.
Stipend
Successful learners may receive a monthly stipend of approximately R3,000 to R4,000 per month, depending on the programme and applicable learnership arrangements.
A learnership can be particularly valuable for unemployed young people because it combines learning with practical exposure and can provide experience that may strengthen a CV.
Applicants should note that stipend amounts and programme conditions can vary, so candidates should confirm the exact details of the specific learnership before accepting an opportunity.
