Applicants may choose two trades in order of preference: Aircraft Welding Welding, repairing aircraft and engine components, plasma spraying, heat treatment, and manufacturing of parts and tooling. Aircraft Spray Painting Corrosion prevention, repairing paint coatings, applying protective coatings, and painting aircraft interiors and exteriors.
Aircraft Trimming Manufacturing, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining aircraft interiors and survival equipment.
Aircraft Composite Structures Manufacturing, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining aircraft composite components.

Job Purpose South African Airways Technical (SAAT) invites young, passionate South African citizens to apply for the 2026 Apprenticeship / Learnership Programme. This opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in building a career in aircraft maintenance and related technical trades.
About the Programme
Successful applicants will undergo structured theoretical and practical training in one of SAAT’s approved aviation trades. The programme aims to develop highly skilled artisans who meet both industry and regulatory standards.
