NetFlorist is hiring General Warehouse/Cold Room Assistant
Job purpose:
The General Warehouse Assistant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all work areas, assisting in cold chain processes, and supporting stock management. This role emphasizes efficiency, reliability, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication. This job description outlines the key responsibilities for the General Warehouse Assistant role, emphasizing organization, cleanliness, participation in cold chain processes, and collaboration within the warehouse team. This job description, along with the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), provides clear performance expectations for the General Warehouse Assistant. These will be reviewed and discussed during annual one-on-one meetings to support professional growth and ensure that the General Warehouse Assistant contributes effectively to the operational success of Netflorist.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Organization, Cleanliness, and Waste Disposal:
Keep all inside and outside areas clear of rubbish, dust free and swept clean. Ensure shelves are dusted and floors are kept dry at all times. Dispose of waste correctly, working with stock controllers to ensure wastage is recorded and disposed of daily. Clean and sanitize eating areas and kitchens every day. Pack up and send back reusable boxes received from H/O. Regularly wash sanitize warehouse floors.
Participation in the Cold Chain Process:
Maintain the oasis station by keeping it filled and clean for use by florists. Assist the Cold Room Stock Controller with duties such as stock counts and wastage without neglecting own duties. Regularly clean the plant nursery and ensure correct plants are kept in the cold room. Dry and pack away poly boxes and place ice packs back in the freezer as drivers return them. Keep buckets clean, use the color bucket system, and have them ready when fresh stock arrives.
General Responsibilities:
Assist the hardware stock controller in unpacking and shelving incoming stock. Comply with health and safety regulations by wearing appropriate clothing and using caution signs on wet floors. Demonstrate reliability and minimize absenteeism. Work closely with stock controllers and participate actively during big occasions to ensure smooth operations. Follow instructions efficiently and manage time effectively. Maintain a positive outlook towards company changes and embrace new procedures. Communicate effectively with staff and handle daily issues professionally. Other duties as assigned by the management team if and when required.
