RAND WATER IS HIRING SENIOR GARDNERS (X2 POSTS)

Job Advert Summary     

Provide specialist input to the maintenance and construction of landscape and to provide direction to gardeners in their duties/ responsibilities.

 

Minimum Requirements             

• Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) or related NQF Level 4
• 3years Experience in horticulture /environmental field.
• Valid code EB driver’s license with the ability to pass Rand Water K53 test.

 

 

Primary Duties 

• All areas of work expected of gardener
• Operation of specialized equipment & machinery (maintenance& equipment )
• Designated areas of recreation facilities such as bowling green, cricket pitches, golf course & other outdoor sports facilities
• Marking and laying out of recreation facilities
• Asset management (stock take)
• Installation and repair of irrigation equipment
• Application of fertilizer
• Chemical application
• Leadership of staff allocated to incumbent and provide clear instructions
• Feeding, cleaning and watering of indoor plants
• Small landscape construction and maintenance
• Specialized garden maintenance

 

 

Knowledge        

• Basic SHE Knowledge on all related functions
• Basic plant identification
• Basic irrigation installation
• Knowledge of hand tools

 

Skills    

• Horticultural skills
• Communication skills
• Specialized equipment e.g. Chainsaw, Pole pruner and related machines
• Landscape maintenance
