MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To transport and escort patients, equipment, files and related items between different departments of a hospital to support hospital operations in delivering the highest standards of care
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Transport and escort patients safely to a pre-determined location
- To transport and escort patients, equipment, files and related items between different departments of a hospital to support hospital operations in delivering the highest standards of care
- Assist with evacuations during emergency situations
- Ensure integrity and confidentiality of patient rights and Mediclinic values
REQUIRED EDUCATION
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Grade 10
DESIRED EDUCATION: None
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Client services / Dealing with the public
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Healthcare experience (e.g. care work)
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Licence with PDP
- Patient rights charter
- English proficiency (read; speak and write)
- Kinetic handling principles
- Knowledge of Medico,legal risks
- Two,way radio systems
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Internal emergency evacuation plans
- Knowledge of administrative tasks
- Health and Safety Act and regulations
