This contract position will be based at Emavundleni Research Clinic, Crossroads. The main purpose of this position is to maintain a safe and clean working environment, as well as to provide office support and refreshments when required.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Candidates must reside in Crossroads
- At least one (1) year experience as a Cleaner in a clinical/research environment
- Must be fluent in Xhosa and English
- Must be professional, organised, and able to follow schedules in a timely manner
- Knowledge on the usage of tools, accessories and chemicals required to perform the job
- Able to clean all fixtures and furniture safely
- Should have high standard of cleaning, punctual, follow instructions, and possesses a level of work ethic.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that general cleaning including sweeping, and vacuum of offices, corridors and common areas
- Empty all office and kitchen waste bins, replace liners, exterior placement of bins for collection as per CSW schedule
- Wipe and dust office furniture and equipment, clean mirrors, glass doors, and door handles/locks, wash crockery and cutlery and pack it away neatly
- Store and keep track of cleaning equipment and products, neatly in designated cupboards
- Monitor the usage of stock levels of consumables and supplies, escalating needs to Operations Manager for ordering.
- Report anything in need of ordering, repair or replacement to Operations Manager
- Disinfect and wash floors and lavatories daily, clean sinks, taps and wipe surrounding surfaces
- Tidy and clean areas after meetings and/or events
- Setup crockery and refreshments for booked venues at scheduled times
- Open/lock doors, open/close windows
- Report anything in need of ordering, repair or replacement to management
- Perform any other similar or ad hoc duties as required
- Performs general physical labor, under close supervision
- Maintenance and upkeep of the Emavundleni site
