Job Advert Summary
Responsible for the assisting the Electrical artisan and Technicians on the following work: Preventative Maintenance, ad-hoc Maintenance, and Project management to meet the specified standards. Reporting problems to the Section Artisan.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 and N3 to N6 or S4 in Electrical or Equivalent
- The previous working experience in field of Electrical will be advantageous
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the trade
- Knowledge of Electrical Principles.
- Ability to do minor electrical repairs
- Physically and medically fit
- Knowledge of OSHA and safe working procedures
- Driver’s License will be advantageous
Primary Duties
- Carrying of hand tools.
- To clean up motor control circuits (MCC) and work areas when job is completed.
- Electric motor testing and cable joint.
- Gathering and running materials for the job
- Assist with storage, lifting, fetching supplies, unload and check deliveries and undertaking tasks to assisting electrician generally.
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Conduct plants and Pump Station electrical inspections and report any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
- Assist on ensuring that health and safety adhere to it.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of Electrical Principles
- Basic safety knowledge (OHSA and Regulations)
- Basic recognition of hand tools
- Knowledge of electrical components
- Basic knowledge of testing equipment’s
Skills
- Ability to conduct minor Electrical repairs.
- Good communication skills (verbal).
- Interpretation of design and drawings.
- Design and wiring of panels.
- Ability to do basic installations and lighting.
- Ability to do motor testing and cable joint.
- Good housekeeping skills.
- Able to work under pressure and willing to grow in the environment.
