A well-known grocery store is looking for a General Assistant to participate in our warehouse operations and activities. The General Assistant’s responsibilities include storing materials, picking, packing, and scanning orders. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

 

What you’ll do

This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.

• Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load; pack; wrap; label; ship)
• Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick; unload; label; store)
• Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits

 

• Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation
• Complete diary logs into inventory
• Report any discrepancies

 

• Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers
• Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment
• Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures; rules and regulations

 

• Preferences
• Meeting the preferences would be a plus, but if you don’t, it won’t stop companies from considering you.

• Are you experienced in picking orders accurately using methods like barcodes or serial numbers?
• How do you ensure accuracy when picking orders?
• What would you do if you find a shortage while picking an order?

 

• What do you do if the order note and the picked items do not match?
• Are you willing to work 6 shifts per week (including Sundays and Public holidays) across trading and non-trading hours?
• How do you secure containers on pallets for shipment?
• Have you used forklifts, pallet jacks, or other heavy equipment in a previous job?
