Description

The successful incumbent will be responsible for all AHRI transport driving which includes transporting AHRI staff between AHRI Durban and AHRI Somkhele, pickups/drop offs at various sites in the Mtubatuba/Durban area as well as general and admin duties as directed by Line Manager.

 

 

Overview of duties

• Transport passengers between AHRI Durban and AHRI Somkhele campuses
• Ad hoc driving duties as directed by Fleet Admin Officer or Line Manager
• Pickup / drop off of visitors / staff from / to King Shaka Airport
• Ensures passengers are transported in a safe and courteous manner
• Ensures vehicles are safe, clean, and well maintained

 

 

• Admin duties as directed by Fleet Admin Officer or Line Manager
• Coordinates the schedule for major or periodic vehicle maintenance with management and staff to minimize service interruptions
• Participates in any prescribed staff development and training activities associated with personal and service improvements
• Adheres to AHRI Transport Policy.
• Fuelling and car washing of vehicle.

 

 

Requirements

1. Matric or equivalent
2. Must Possess a valid South African Code C1 with PrDP driver’s License with at least 3 years driving experience
3. Advance or defensive driving training is an added advantage.
4. Possess and maintain a safe driving record with no serious offenses against his/her name.

 

 

 

Minimum experience

1. At least 3 years’ work experience as a driver
2. Previous professional experience or exposure in the transportation of hazardous goods/specimens is an added advantage.
3. Previous professional experience in transportation of passengers and high-level delegation is an added advantage.
