Job Description:

The Security Officer – Diamond Audit will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the diamond processes and controls within the Midstream operating companies in order to proactively recognize potential and actual vulnerabilities.

 

Key responsibilities include:

• Examine sieve size goods utilizing technology, to identify any non-diamond material prior to the sorting process.
• Operate the Diamond Management System according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Investigating various anomalies that may occur within the production processes and propose solutions in line with governance protocols.
• Analyzing data obtained from diamond analysis and production departments for fault finds and writing reports highlighting anomalies.
• Controlling the receipt and issue of all seals from the supplier to the user and perform shipment packing as per standard procedure.
• Reconciling all valuations upon completion of the sorting process at end of production cycle.
• Undertaking routine audits within the various departments and report anomalies accordingly.

 

• Attending to external auditor requests in respect of documentation.
• Anticipate the potential vulnerabilities and risks and recommend changes or corrective actions.
• Perform general administrative duties e.g. data capturing, record diamond balancing on floors, filing, copies, seal checks, perform reconciliations, generate and distribute audit statistical reports etc.
• Operate the Surveillance and Access Control systems from time to time as part of problem solving.
• Operate the Central Intelligence Information System (CiiMS) for occurrence and incident capturing.

 

Qualifications:

• Relevant Tertiary Qualification at NQF level 4 (National Certificate) in Security management or recognized equivalent.
• PSIRA Grade C or eligible for such registration.

 

Role-specific knowledge and experience:

• Relevant experience of working with high value goods in a high security environment.
• Surveillance experience would be an advantage.
• Experience in the Diamond Handling discipline would be an advantage.
