The Department of Transport, Safety and Liaison invites qualified and dedicated individuals to apply for the position of Cashiers (Revenue Clerks). Salary Package

Successful candidates will receive a salary ranging from R228 321 to R268 950 per annum, depending on experience and applicable government salary scales for Level 05 positions. The remuneration package forms part of the public service salary structure and may include benefits in accordance with government employment policies.

Key Responsibilities

The Cashier (Revenue Clerk) role is critical in supporting the daily operations of motor vehicle registration and licensing services. Successful candidates will perform the following duties:

Motor Vehicle Licensing Services

Cashiers will be responsible for performing motor vehicle licensing renewal functions, ensuring that all transactions comply with legal and departmental requirements.

Revenue Collection

The role involves collecting and processing payments related to vehicle licensing and other departmental services. Accuracy and accountability are essential when handling public funds.

Daily Cash-Up Procedures

Employees must perform daily cash-up duties, ensuring that all financial transactions recorded during the day correspond with the funds received.

Document Filing and Safeguarding

Cashiers are responsible for filing and safeguarding all revenue-related documents generated or received during transactions. Proper record keeping is essential for auditing and compliance purposes.

NaTIS Transactions

The position requires performing transactions on the National Traffic Information System (NaTIS). This system is used nationally to process motor vehicle registration and licensing services.

Customer Service and Enquiries

Revenue clerks must assist clients by handling general enquiries and NaTIS-related queries. Providing clear and helpful information to members of the public is an important part of the role.

Completed and signed new Z83 application form. Comprehensive and updated CV. At least two contactable references. At the initial application stage, only the Z83 form and CV should be submitted. Supporting documents such as certified copies of qualifications will only be required from shortlisted candidates.
