TUCKSHOP ASSISTANT – RUSTENBURG GIRL’S HIGH SCHOOL

We are looking for a highly passionate, driven and self- motivated candidate who has a passion for coffee and the catering industry. Candidates should be creative and very enthusiastic with more than 3 years’ experience in the catering industry and a minimum of 2 years consecutive experience working with coffee.

 

 

Your duties will include baking, preparing items on tuck shop menu, opening and closing, making juices and smoothies, keeps the serving line well-stocked and clean, barista work in a busy coffee cart, using the till, working on point of sale at the same time as maintaining impeccable customer service. The ideal candidate will be expected to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. They must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping; be able to multitask quickly and efficiently; be reliable and open for flexibility towards the role and have great time management skills.

Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate must be:

• Passionate about the food and coffee industry.
• Have a reasonable understanding of making espresso-based coffee.
• Adaptable to a changing environment.
• Energetic and friendly while able to provide impeccable customer service.
• Confident communicator who is able to remain calm under pressure.
• Self-motivated and efficient in time management.
• Ability to work both within a team and independently.
• Good at mathematics for serving purposes.
• Accurately work card machines and Point of Sale devices.
• Excellent all-rounder as part of the catering team.
• Flexibility to working weekends and possibility of working after hours.
• Willing to act as a co-Tutor as part of the schools Vertical Tutoring System.

 

 

Experience:

• Customer service in the Food Industry: 3+ years (Required)
• Coffee preparation and service: 2+ years (Required)

Certification:

• A Driver’s licence would be an advantage.

Language:

• English to a high standard (Required)
