Are you an enthusiastic individual ready to tackle the working world. RCL FOODS has an exciting opportunity for a General Worker to join our fantastic group divison based in Boksburg. The Individual should be an organised individual who is passionate and has the ability to merchandise and ensure cleanliness of the store as well as facilitate excellent customer service at store level.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade: 12
- Minimum of 3 years of General worker experience, preferably in a staff shop or similar setting
- Minimum of 2 years Cashier experience, preferably in a retail setting
Duties & Responsibilities
MERCHANDISING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Offload delivery truck and allocate stock as per Outlet Controller’s instructions
- Ensure shelves are correctly and neatly packed with product as per store merchandising standards
- Ensure correct prices reflect and or are displayed correctly
- Adhering to our Health and Safety Standards, in terms of the Shelf Life of products
- Ensure stock is rotated according to stock merchandising standards – First in First Out
- Advise customers of Store Specials, Promotions and Prices
- Remove damaged stock from all shelves when necessary and inform Outlet Controller
- Assist with customer queries or requests at in-store floor level
- Advise Outlet Controller on customer queries regarding stock or stock levels
- Where relevant, assist with pulling of stock as per Staff Account orders on day of delivery
- Merchandising
CASHIER DUTIES:
- Managing sales transactions
- Efficiently reconciling cash
- Facilitating customer service to improve the sales of the Staff Shop
- Manage daily transactions between the Farm Shop, traders and consumers
- Capture daily totals on Point of Sale (POS) system
- Conduct daily cash reconciliations between cash banked and the POS system
- Highlight, follow up and report on any discrepancies
- Use Bank Note Scanning Machine to trace counterfeit bank notes
CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Proactively communicate product information to traders and consumers
- Drive sales by informing traders and consumers on store promotions
- Seek feedback from traders and consumers on how to improve services
STOCK TAKE/MANAGEMENT
- Assist the team with our monthly stock take
- Feedback to Outlet Controller on stock count discrepancies in order for the Outlet Controller address
- Inform Outlet Controller on customer needs and wants
HOUSE-KEEPING
- Ensure premises remain clean and presentable
- Monitor freezer temperature levels and advise Outlet Controller of any potential problems to ensure resolutions are taken swiftly
- Be the ambassador of driving energy saving initiatives
