KINGSMEAD COLLEGE IS LOOKING FOR A TEACHER ASSISTANT

The successful applicant must meet the following criteria:

• A suitable professional ECD qualification and proven track record as a highly skilled ECD teaching assistant
• Proven experience working as a childcare teacher. ECD experience would be an advantage
• In possession of a current criminal clearance, child protection register clearance, and sexual offenders register clearance certificate
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills

 

 

 

• Have sound administrative and organisational skills
• Have a significant level of computer literacy
• In-depth understanding of childhood development
• Provide basic care for children that includes toilet training and changing nappies

 

 

 

• Ability to develop appropriate socialisation skills in children
• Use various learning methods such as stories, crafts, sensory play, puzzles and games to stimulate children intellectually
• Provide a pleasant, safe and sanitary environment

 

 

 

• Able to clean areas after children have worked there, clean classroom, storage areas and indoor play areas
• Be a team player with well-developed interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently with management, staff, parents and children

 

 

 

• Be interested in community building and developing the social and emotional well-being of girls in the educational space
• Have a high level of energy, must be enthusiastic, passionate and a team contributor
• Be open to continuous learning and feedback
• Interested in contributing to a happy community of belonging and inclusion
• Ability to engage fully with the ethos and spirit of Kingsmead
