Position Purpose:

To place and clear wagons and locomotives; compile, receive and dispatch train- to pass the information on in order to deliver wagons/trains at their required destination according to a prescribed set of rules safely.

 

 

Position Outputs:

Control point register

❑ Coupled trucks

❑ Yard operations

❑ Dispatched train

❑ Uncoupled trucks

❑ Vehicle list/train composition certificate

❑ Protect Crossings

❑ Control Derailers

 

 

Responsible for the control and monitoring of the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality practices in marshalling yards and sidings under his I her control, to ensure adherence to accepted company safety standards and statutory requirements Shunting of locos (23E class,18Eclass,7E,19E,diesel locos,Wagons and coaches

 

 

Operating Travesor.

❑ Operating Hunslet.

❑ Operating Whiting.

❑ Operating zepher.

❑ Changing of points.

❑ Operating Dezy Hauler.

❑ Coupling of the loads.

❑ Coupling of safety links.

❑ Coupling of air/ vacuum brakes

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

Grade 10

❑ Yard Official Certificate.

❑ 2 Years Yard official experience.
