Salary: (T3/A3) R9043.00 per month basic excluding benefits
Joburg Market: General Workers (X30 POSTS)
Ensure consistent general cleaning and upkeep of the Joburg Market premises. The main aim is to create a well-kept, neat, and aesthetically clean environment for traders and visitors to the Joburg Market.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Moving of furniture, files, equipment
- General handyman work
- Sanitise litter bins with a suitable chemical
- Lift drain covers and remove debris (kerb inlets) Wash and sanitize all drains / gulleys
- Wash and dry all guard rails and barricades
- Damp wipe all fire equipment cabinets
- Wash all roller shutter doors including door frames
- Clean all Joburg Market signage
- Pick up all spillage around the concrete bins and clean leachate
- Remove any substances stuck on the walls, mirrors and doors
- Thoroughly clean all urinals and toilet bowls using a disinfectant, paying attention to under the rim of the bowl
- Pick up all debris and waste caught at the fence area (boundary fence with neighbouring property)
- Deep clean floor surface with a high pressure washer
- Urinals and toilet bowls to be de-scaled using a suitable toilet bowl de-scaling agent and/or steam cleaning
- Thoroughly clean all urinals and toilet bowls using a disinfectant, paying attention to under the rim of the bowl
- Damp wipe all seats, lids, cisterns and flushing handles with a suitable disinfectant
- Thoroughly scrub, deep clean and sanitise all hand-wash basins, paying attention to the areas around taps, overflow outlet and plug hole.
- Dust, damp wipe walls, doors and cubicle partitions to remove marks, dirt and dust
- Light fittings and tubes in ablutions to be dusted.
- Drains shall be clear of blockages
- Wash down and disinfect with suitable disinfectant
- Deep cleaning all floor tiles and apply disinfectant especially in the corners
- Remove any substances stuck on the walls, mirrors and doors
- Deep cleaning all wall tiles and apply disinfectant
- Wipe off all bird droppings on platforms and walls
- Hand wash partitions
- Clean all Fire equipment cabinets
- Dry clean all electrical DB box covers
- Wipe splatters/stains on the walls
- Dust and damp wipe all counter tops at cashier points
- Clean glass notice boards at cashier points
- Clean all bird droppings on floor passages and walls
- Wipe all guard rails
- Polish and shine the stair case
- Wash passage windows
- Damp wipe all seats, lids, cisterns and flushing handles with an anti-bacterial solution
- Thoroughly scrub all washbasins, paying attention to the areas around taps, overflow outlet, plug hole, to be left in a clean streak free condition. Tap fittings to be cleaned and dried using noncorrosive chemicals
- Wash pillars and palisade fence on both sides
- Damp wipe all tile surrounds and mirrors and shine dry to a clean, streak free finish Wash pillars and palisade fence on both sides
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 10
- At least 1 years relevant experience in cleaning environment
